Our founder, Tom Argue, created Argue Custom Homes after years of experience in the building market. His idea was simple—to build the finest homes in the finest neighborhoods. Today, Argue Custom Homes has done just that. Operating out of Arizona and beyond, our luxury homes highlight our passion for innovative design, architecture that pushes the boundaries, and high-quality craftsmanship along every step of the way.

Homebuilding can often be an arduous process, but our goal is to fully involve our clients and help them realize their idea’s potential. TOM ARGUE

President/Founder

Tom graduated from The University of Arizona in 1989. Upon graduation, he went to California and worked in the commercial and environmental construction industry. In 1995, his passion for custom home building led him to Arizona where he founded Argue Custom Homes. In 2020, Argue Custom Homes will be celebrating 25 years of creating spectacular homes throughout the Valley. It has been a privilege and an honor to be an award-winning company with a portfolio of over 150 homes.

The greatest rewards in Tom’s career are the friendships that have been cultivated from each of our building experiences. There is nothing more gratifying than to see our client's vision come to life and exceed the expectations of their dream home.

When Tom is not in the office or on a job site, he loves to travel with his wife and two daughters. Tom is inspired by architecture, art, and fashion. One of his greatest joys is to spend time on the beaches of California.

BRAD KERN

Vice President of Operations

At an early age, Brad followed his dad around job sites and caught the bug for construction. Following his passion, he later started a small renovation business and worked as a finish carpenter before getting into a superintendent position with a multi-family builder. His gained skills and expertise led him into the construction of large, high-end custom homes. He has spent the last 12 years with Argue Custom Homes collaborating with the top subcontractors and wonderful clients while designing and building some of the finest homes in Arizona.

Brad believes the best part of his job is working on the assembly of complex projects that provide fun and exciting challenges. He feels blessed that work has brought great people into his life that he has worked with and for, from subcontractors to clients.

In his free time, you can catch Brad riding the mountain bike trails of Arizona and enjoying time with family.

MICHELLE BULNA

Chief Financial Officer

Originally from the East Coast, Michelle has an extensive background in commercial and residential construction environments where she was responsible for the financial, administrative and risk management operations of small and mid-sized companies.

As Argue Custom Homes’ Chief Financial Officer, Michelle has developed and integrated sound accounting practices that drive excellence for our firm and our clients. Identifying elevated financial processes that enable Argue Custom Homes to efficiently serve our clients, her expertise provides ease, clarity and confidence. Michelle is very proud of the work we create and loves witnessing the process as clients realize their dream homes. Michelle finds great joy in working alongside the ACH team as we build and grow.

When not delighting our customers, Michelle practices and teaches Kundalini yoga and meditation. Recently an empty nester of 2 adult children, Michelle is happiest when hiking, traveling and cooking.

JOE HERMIT

Senior Project Manager

Joe started his career in home building as an apprentice carpenter during his high school years in the San Francisco Bay area. Joe continued as a carpenter through his early years of college while studying Architectural Design. Following, he decided to pursue construction full-time. His focus was on framing and interior finishes for complex luxury homes.

After honing his skills, Joe went on to start his own framing and interior finish construction company. He successfully operated this company for 20 years before deciding to relocate to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1999.

Over the past 20 years, Joe has focused entirely on planning and building luxury homes in the Scottsdale area. Joe enjoys the challenges and complexities of all aspects of planning and building fine homes. As Argue Custom Homes’ Senior Project Manager, he says, “I greatly enjoy the process of building strong relationships with architects, engineers and sub-contractors.”

In Joe’s free time, he likes to explore the backroads of Arizona with his children and grandchildren. Joe is known to BBQ frequently and enjoys cooking for family and friends!

GARRETT HAGEL

Project Manager

Garrett grew up in Minnesota and was involved in construction at an early age. When he was 16 years old, he held his first job as a carpenter in the Midwest. Meanwhile, he was also a student athlete throughout college, which taught him how to be a team leader, adapt to different situations and connect with diverse personalities to help accomplish team goals. He credits his experiences in sports as the driving force behind his strong ability to be successful in the construction industry!

Following college, Garrett owned his own business for 10 years. Within this business, he built custom homes and completed large remodels. Before starting with Argue Custom Homes, he spent 5 years as a Lead Superintendent building large commercial projects throughout the valley. We are thrilled to have his experience, talent and leadership within our team and to see the way he cares for each project with high attention to detail.

Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time with his two sons in the outdoors. His favorite things to do with his sons are camping, hunting and fishing!

MATT TEUBNER

Project Manager

Matt grew up in Oklahoma and learned about building custom homes from his dad who owned a custom home building company. Later in life, Matt worked for his dad as a Superintendent in Arizona. During this time, he gained valuable skills by learning about custom home building and customer service. Upon his dad’s retirement, he joined the team at Argue Custom Homes.

Matt enjoys working with our clients and the entire team. He enjoys managing the building process and seeing clients happy and satisfied after a job well done!

When Matt isn’t at a job site, you can find him enjoying the outdoors and camping with his wife of 21 years, teenage daughter, and friends.

In his free time, you can catch Brad riding the mountain bike trails of Arizona and enjoying time with family.

CRISTIAN HERNANDEZ

Job Site Support

Cristian came to Argue Custom Homes after gaining his expertise as a roofing salesman and his top-notch customer service skills at the Amazon Center. Understanding the field from a client-needs perspective and viewing jobs from a detail-oriented view has allowed him to thrive out in the field.

Cristian works passionately to ensure subcontractors keep material organized and job sites clean, while also learning and monitoring construction details. He is the best guy to call for facilitating punch-lists, repairs and small job site tasks. His favorite part about his job is seeing our clients’ dreams transform from paper plans into a physical structure.

When Cristian is not contributing his hard work and uplifting spirit in the field, you can find this professional DJ bringing life to parties, special events and gatherings around the state and beyond!

OLIVIA CASHION

Social Media & Marketing Director

A proud Pepperdine wave, Olivia graduated with a degree in Organizational Communications. Following, she worked for The Walt Disney Company in the Enterprise Social Responsibility department planning corporate volunteer events, orchestrating company-wide philanthropic initiatives, maintaining nonprofit relationships, processing cash contributions and elevating communication & marketing efforts. She then went on to work for a nationwide nonprofit helping youth in foster care and managed strategic partnerships with global companies such as Away, Sparkling Ice, AURA, SHEIN and Microsoft. Following, she proudly began working for Argue Custom Homes.

Olivia’s favorite part about her job is getting to see dreams come to life, as she knows that a house is way more than just a home – it’s an environment that cultivates love, connection, family memories, and personal meaning.

When Olivia is not working, you can find her hiking, spending time with friends and family, or traveling with her amazing husband!

COURTNEY FOURNIER

Communications Coordinator

After attending ASU, Courtney went straight into a high-end sales position where she helped clients build their vision and bring it to life. She gained extensive knowledge in customer experience and places heavy importance on client relationships. She appreciates the process of home building and enjoys watching projects come to life, from start to finish. Courtney currently handles client, vendor and subcontractor communication, assists all project managers with managing documents, and takes care of any general office needs.

Courtney believes that the Argue Custom Homes work environment and culture are the absolute greatest part of the job, as well as the people she gets to work alongside every day. Having lived in Scottsdale for the majority of her youth, she has gained an unconditional love and appreciation for the valley and loves getting to share that admiration with clients!

When not wandering the beautiful Arizona desert, you can find her exploring the Phoenix Metro area’s food scene!
